Re-imagining Memories in 3D

For my first 3D animation, LUCKY’S, I tried to take inspiration from written poetry and create something subversive, honest, dense, and poignant. Through disjointed memories and faded emotion, I recounted my dad’s food truck.

The Special Lunch Combo

Aside from the writing of the narration, a big challenge was pairing that narration with the visuals in a way that felt appropriate. But ultimately, I’m proud of the result. The combination of unlike elements created opportunities for abstraction and surprise. And moreover, I was excited (and nervous) to share a personal slice of my life.
